Patti Bailey
Artist Statement
Painting is my passion and when I am creating I am fully content. As an Artist who paints from realism to impressionism, I place importance on the use of light, texture and the values of color in my works. I aim to capture the true expression of my subject matter whether it is a person, place or object. I want those who view my work to get a positive, uplifting reaction whether it be a feeling or thought that makes them happy. Let me turn your favorite photo into a lasting original painting!
"When I paint my mind is calm and at peace, with any worries a million miles away."
Biography
Patti Bailey can not remember when she wasn't creating Art. She was surrounded by a very creative, extended family growing up in the countryside of New Jersey. Summers were spent at the family beach house, which influenced her love of sand and water. At the age of 20 her family moved to Dallas, Texas where she received a degree in Studio Art at Southern Methodist University. Patti soon married after college and had three children to raise so her career in art was delayed, but she did not stop creating. In 2004, she and a friend started a mural/decorative arts business called Creative Palettes, which lead to her work with known designers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in both residential and commercial work.
A move to Baton Rouge in 2010 with her family was a change (loving the landscapes and waterways) that brought her back to her easel taking classes at the Baton Rouge Fine Arts Academy. This was Patti's awakening to all she could accomplish as an artist. Although her passion never faded she came to the realization that she was a true artist getting to paint everyday which is where she wanted to be, at her easel. Working in different mediums from watercolor to oil depending on what medium will benefit the subject matter and express what she has in mind. Patti Bailey's works include landscapes, seascapes, portraits (people and animals), still life, and whatever it takes to meet her clients needs. Working in watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic, and pen and ink.
